Below are the scripts of the following Carols
     with Chinese translation of some difficult English words.

The first Noel, We three kings, Silent Night, Oh Come All Ye Faithful,
Joy To The World, Away In A Manger, O Little Town Of Bethlehem,
It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, Deck the Halls,
We Wish You a Merry Christmas, What Child is This?
O Christmas Tree, The Twelve Days of Christmas,
O Come O Come Emmanuel, Jingle Bells, O Holy Night

1. The first Noel (French word Noël meaning "Christmas" )
    The First Noel, the Angels did say
    Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
      In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
        On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
           They looked up and saw a star
              Shining in the East beyond them far
                 And to the earth it gave great light
                   And so it continued both day and night.

* Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
             Born is the King of Israel!

2. We three kings
    We three kings of Orient are
    Bearing gifts we traverse afar (遠道而來).
     Field and fountain, moor (沼澤) and mountain,
       Following yonder (遠處的) star.

Glorious now behold Him arise,
   King and God and Sacrifice (犧牲的獻祭).
     Alleluia, alleluia!
       Earth to heaven reprise.

* O star of wonder, star of night,
   Star with royal beauty bright,
   Westward leading, still proceeding,
   Guide us to thy perfect Light.

3. Silent Night

Silent night, holy night
   All is calm, all is bright
      Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
         Holy Infant so tender and mild
            Sleep in heavenly peace (x2)

Silent night, holy night
   Son of God, love's pure light
      Radiant beams from Thy holy face
         With the dawn of redeeming grace
            Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth (x2)

4. Oh Come All Ye Faithful

Oh, come, all ye faithful,
   Joyful and triumphant (勝利的)!
      Oh, come ye, oh, come ye to Bethlehem;
         Come and behold him
            Born the king of angels:

Oh, Sing, choirs of angels,
   Sing in exultation (喜氣洋洋),
      Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!
         Glory to God,
            Glory in the highest:

* Oh, come, let us adore (崇拜) Him, Oh, come, let us adore Him,
      Oh, come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.

5. Joy To The World

Joy to the World, the Lord is come!
   Let earth receive her King;
      Let every heart prepare Him room,
         And Heaven and nature sing (x2),
         And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior(救世主) reigns (君臨為王)!
   Let men their songs employ;
     While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains

      Repeat the sounding joy (x2),
      Repeat, Re-peat, the sounding joy.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
   And makes the nations prove
      The glories of His righteousness (公義),

      And wonders of His love (x2),
      And wonders, wonders, of His love (x3).

6. Away In A Manger

Away in a manger (馬槽), no crib for His bed,
   The little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head.
       The stars in the sky looked down where He lay
           The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing (嗚嗚叫), the poor Baby wakes,
    But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
       I love Thee (old English for "You"),
         Lord Jesus look down from the sky
           And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay,
    Close by me forever, and love me, I pray!
        Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
          And take us to heaven, to Live with Thee there.

7. O Little Town Of Bethlehem (伯利恆)
    O little town of Bethlehem,
    How still we see thee lie!
       Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
          The silent stars go by;
    Yet in thy dark streets shineth
    The everlasting Light;
       The hopes and fears of all the years
         Are met in thee to-night.

    For Christ is born of Mary,
     And gathered all above,
       While mortals sleep, the angels keep
          their watch of wondering love.

    O morning stars, together
      Proclaim the holy birth!
       And praises sing to God the King,
       And peace to men on earth.

8. It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
    It came upon the midnight clear,
    That glorious song of old,
      From angels bending near the earth,
        To touch their harps (豎琴) of gold:
       "Peace on the earth, goodwill to men,
           from heavens all gracious King!"
             The world in solemn stillness lay, to hear the angels sing.

    For lo! the days are hastening (趕快) on,
    By prophets seen of old,
       When with the ever-circling years
           Shall come the time foretold,
           When the new heaven and
               earth shall own the Prince of Peace, their King,
           And the whole world send back the song
               which now the angels sing.

9. Deck the Halls

       Deck (裝飾、打扮) the halls with boughs (大樹枝)
         of holly (冬青屬植物), fa la la la la, la la la la.
       T'is the season to be jolly, fa la la la, la la la.
       Don we now our gay apparel, fa la la, la la la, la la la.
       Troll the ancient Yule (Christmas) tide carol, fa la la la, la la la.
       See the blazing Yule before us, fa la la la la, la la la la.
       Strike the harp and join the chorus, fa la la la, la la la.
       Follow me in merry measure, fa la la la la, la la la la.
       While I tell of Yule tide treasure, fa la la la, la la la.
       Fast away the old year passes, fa la la la la, la la la la.
       Hail (歡呼) the new, ye lads (少年) and lasses (少女),
             fa la la la, la la la.
       Sing we joyous, fun together, fa la la la la, la la la la.
       Heedless (不理會) of the wind and weather, fa la la la, la la la.
    Fa la la la la, la la la la (x2).

      10. We Wish You a Merry Christmas
            We wish you a Merry Christmas (x2);
            We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

             Now, bring us a figgy (以無花果製造的) pudding (x2);
             Now, bring us a figgy pudding and a cup of good cheer
             We won't go until we get some (x2);
             We won't go until we get some, so bring it out here
             We wish you a Merry Christmas (x2);

             We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

             * Good tidings we bring to you and your kin (親友);
                We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

      11. What Child is This?
             What Child is this who, laid to rest,

             On Mary's lap (膝部) is sleeping?
             Whom Angels greet with anthems (讚美詩) sweet,
             While shepherds watch are keeping?

             This, this is Christ the King,
             Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing;
             Haste, haste, to bring Him laud (讚美),

             The Babe, the Son of Mary.
             Joy, joy for Christ is born,

             The Babe, the Son of Mary (x2).

      12. O Christmas Tree
            O Christmas Tree, O Christmas tree,

             Your leaves are green forever.

             O Christmas Tree, O Christmas tree,
             Your beauty leaves thee never.

             Your leaves are green in summer's prime,
             Your leaves are green at Christmas time.

             O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
             Your leaves are green forever.

             O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!
             You has a wondrous message:

             O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!
             You has a wondrous message:

             You dost proclaim the Savior's birth
             Good will to men and peace on earth.

             O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!
             You has a wondrous message.(x2)

      15. Jingle Bells

      Dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh (雪橇)
      O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way
      Bells on bob tails ring, making spirits bright
      What fun it is to laugh and sing a sleighing song tonight

      Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
      Oh, what fun it is to ride, in a one horse open sleigh
      Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
      Oh, what fun it is to ride, in a one horse open sleigh

      A day or two ago, I thought I'd take a ride
      And soon Miss Fanny Bright, Was seated by my side
      The horse was lean and lank, Misfortune seemed his lot
      We got into a drifted bank, And then we got upsot

      Oh,
      * Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
      Oh, what fun it is to ride, in a one horse open sleigh
      Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

      16.O Holy Night
            O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,

             It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
             Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
             Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
             A thrill of hope the weary in world rejoices,
             For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

              Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
             O night divine, the night when Christ was born;

             O night, divine, O Holy Night, O night divine!

        關於我自己

        Toronto, Ontario, Canada
        一顆期盼著生命來臨的心 - 新生命是天父所賜最好的禮物,怎樣迎接著他/她的來臨,應該抱著什麼的心情? 一個與主耶穌基督離世升天復活前同齡的信徒、一個深信藉著十字架的愛才可以化解人間的怨仇、一個飽歷滄桑但仍相信『四海之內皆兄弟』、不斷學習『愛人如己』的赤子、一個正期盼著BB出生的準父親...... (以上寫於2007年8月)(以下是寫於2009年12月27日) 從少在天主教背景長大、熟悉聖經、天主教教會的禮儀、規條、教義、可能是未曾遇上一個值得敬重的天主教徒的同學或老師,因緣際會下,中七時在一基督教宣道會的『彩虹佈道會』中、茅塞頓開、明白到『因信稱義』的道理,便毅然決志信主、從此跟隨耶穌基督、立志將信仰跟生活融合(fuse / integrate)起來、樂意跟渴望真理的人分享真道、讓更多人明白福音、體驗基督的愛。 亦曾在年輕時深入虎穴,在一間主流基督教視為異端的教會聚會、跟那些談吐斯文、熱心傳道的年青長老研究、交流、並參與他們教會的核數工作、對他們的行政、財政、佈道策略瞭如指掌。 最近開始探索伊斯蘭的教義,碰巧新來的外傭是虔誠的穆斯林,更加可以知己知彼。 此博客的寫作及資料分享的動力來源... 其一是跟別人分享自己認為是優良、叫人得造就、建立的資訊,而亦是自己資料搜集的平台,自己在分享過程中及在其他博客的回饋意見及交流中,不斷的更新及豐富自己的學識及內涵... 其二是給惟恩寶寶一步一步地灌輸我們認為正確的、以聖經為本的價值觀、道德觀、宇宙觀,讓寶寶在愛及真理中成長,以致她長大多一點、懂得獨立思考的時候,可以自己選擇一條正路,畢竟每個人都被賦與自由意志,跟隨耶穌基督與否是個人的選擇,萬一在寶寶成長的中途、我們作父母的突然猝死(在每晚睡著之前,誰有絕對的把握 -- 翌日早晨的時候,心仍然在跳動、還有明天的生命氣息?),寶寶也可以明白父母的心意... 其三是因為互聯網的『無遠弗屆』,希望在天家的母親、外婆、外公,也可以知道我們在地上的近況。 其四是讓寶寶在長大後,可以回望小時候的成長片段。 其五是在分享教養孩童的生活片段、成長點滴的時候,當中必定是喜樂多於憂愁的,雖然實踐、學習無條件的愛時,必定要付上代價,但希望在分享中,叫一些活在愁煩中的家長改變過來,以喜樂的心去造就一個愛的環境給他/她們的寶寶成長,在那個環境下,沒有寶寶是被忽略、被遺棄、被掌控... 卻是被愛惜、被接納、被啟蒙,在愛中建立自己。
